When I first began this comic series I had no idea whether it would be episodic, linear, sensible, and all else it had the potential to be. It simply started with me drawing a child, who in turn was drawing an eye.
I did know that I wanted the final panel of each instalment to be left open as a segue into the next, not just as a means of leading into the next story arc, but also as my own incentive to keep the project going.
Sometimes, that final panel has been an intentional one in that I had a clear idea of where it would lead and whether it might interconnect with previous instalments or not. Other times it's been a simple idea that just "popped out" with myself having no clue as to where it would lead until further exploring it.
This bowling ball was just such a thing. Why was it? Where was it? Turns out it was floating in space, but how did it get there? Who would do such a thing?
A bowling pin, of course.
Does the mystery go any deeper? I don't know. And Paul's certainly not saying anything. Not if he knows what's good for him.
